Eiropas sērijas ieviešana

Eiropas sērijas banknotes tiek ieviestas pakāpeniski vairāku gadu laikā pieaugošā secībā. Četras pirmās jaunā izlaiduma banknotes — 5 eiro, 10 eiro, 20 eiro un 50 eiro — nonāca apgrozībā attiecīgi 2013., 2014.  2015. un 2017. gadā. Jaunā 50 eiro banknote tika izlaista 2017. gada 4. aprīlī.

Atjaunināts dizains, pastiprināta drošība

Jauno banknošu dizainā turpinās iesāktais attīstības ceļš. Uz tām joprojām redzami pirmā izlaiduma laikmetu un stilu motīvi, taču jauno pretviltošanas elementu dēļ būs veiktas nelielas pārmaiņas. Dizaina pārmaiņu dēļ jaunās banknotes būs arī viegli atšķirt no pirmā izlaiduma banknotēm un tās būs grūtāk viltot. Banknošu dizaina atjaunināšana tika uzticēta neatkarīgam banknošu dizaina autoram no Berlīnes Reinholdam Geršteteram (Reinhold Gerstetter). Ir šādu nominālvērtību banknotes: 5 eiro, 10 eiro, 20 eiro, 50 eiro, 100 eiro un 200 eiro. Saskaņā ar lēmumu, ko ECB pieņēma 2016. gada maijā, Eiropas sērijā nebūs 500 eiro banknotes. Viegli pamanāmi un drošāki

Eiropas sērijas jaunie pretviltošanas elementi uz banknotēm ir viegli pamanāmi un aizsargā jaunās banknotes pret viltošanu.


Pakāpeniska ieviešana

Eiropas sērijas banknošu ieviešana vairāku iemeslu dēļ atšķirsies no 2002. gada pārejas uz eiro skaidro naudu.

Atšķirībā no tūlītējās pārejas uz eiro skaidro naudu, kas notika 2002. gadā, dažādu nominālvērtību banknotes tiks emitētas dažādos laikos, un visas sērijas ieviešana ilgs vairākus gadus.

Tā kā jaunās banknotes tiks ieviestas pakāpeniski un dažādās valstīs ir atšķirīgs skaidrās naudas aprites cikls, banknotes visās eiro zonas valstīs neparādīsies vienlaikus.

Vienlaikus apgrozībā, derīgas neierobežotu laiku

Daudzās eiro zonas valstīs pirmā izlaiduma banknotes vairākus mēnešus tiks emitētas vienlaikus ar jaunajām banknotēm, lai izlietotu atlikušos krājumus. Abu izlaidumu banknotes būs apgrozībā vienlaikus, un visām būs likumīga maksāšanas līdzekļa statuss. Diena, kad pirmā izlaiduma eiro banknotes pārstās būt likumīgs maksāšanas līdzeklis, tiks izziņota laikus. Tomēr pirmā izlaiduma banknotes varēs apmainīt Eirosistēmas centrālajās bankās neierobežotu laiku.

7. We understand that stocks of ECB materials for distribution are limited. We will inform the ECB of the number of copies distributed, the means of distribution as well as the target groups.
On behalf of the company/institution mentioned above, we declare that we will refrain from using any materials either in printed or electronic form provided by the ECB until our membership of the Partnership Programme has been confirmed.
We will be liable for any damages incurred by the ECB should we not act in accordance with this Letter of Intent. We also understand that the ECB reserves the right to terminate our membership at any time.
